Fūnem Studio is founded in 2015 by fashion designer Jantine van Peski to share her love for textiles, craftsmanship and her passion for weaving. Many years of creating textile objects provided her with in-depth knowledge of different materials and crafting supplies which resulted in a high quality collection of tools, yarns and wool produced in Europe.
We handpick all our fibers and develop some of our tools in the studio in Antwerp, where every order is handled with love and care to bring joy and inspiration to weavers all over the world.
With our small team we handle all your questions, inquiries and orders with the fullest attention. In fact our impeccable after-sales service is widely renowned. Welcome to our weaving community!
Jantine van Peski
Founder and creative director of Fūnem Studio
Jantine studied at the Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, where she graduated in 2011 with a master’s degree (MA) with her graduation project ‘WIRES 10.0’. WIRES 10.0 is a fashion collection that is entirely handknotted using macramé-knots. Jantine gained design experience at the fashion houses of Haider Ackermann and A.F. Vandevorst and continued to develop her love for craftsmanship while working on textile objects for Studio Job and Chambers NYC. In 2015 she decided to fullfill another dream of hers: sharing the knowledge of weaving and macrame through Instagram and a small webshop, which she called Fūnem Studio. Fūnem refers to the Latin translation of rope.
