Viscose was the first manufactured fibre. Unlike most man-made fibres, viscose is not synthetic. It is made from wood pulp, a naturally-occuring, cellulose-based raw material. It's relatively inexpensive and a renewable resource, but its processing requires high water and energy use. This yarn is spun on a manually operated machine.
